I believe that each person is doing the best that they can with the tools & coping skills that they have. I have worked to help each of my clients to identify not only where they struggle but to also identify what is working positively in their lives. I do this because I operate from a belief that people often know the answers to their own questions but they sometimes lack the tools to apply the answer.
With my clients, I help them to get a clear picture of what the actual challenge is. We untangle and unravel patterns of behaviors, contributing thoughts and influencing feelings to reach the core of the problem. We also look at the impact of possible influences including but not limited to family and societal influence, spiritual and religious factors and how the challenge is effecting other areas of your life to create a more wholestic approach to therapy. . My goal is to help you live the life you want in a way that is happy & healthy for you.
I have worked In a variety of setting including doing intensive family interventions with families in crisis, providing individual and family therapy to children, teens and adolescents in psychiatric residential treatment as well as providing community mental health services to children, and adults.
I have experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Brief and Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as treatment modalities.
When not working, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my family & friends..
